dsc_0058Brevard County was host to 28 Youth Football teams in The 6th Annual King Of The South Dec 2nd -Dec 4th 2016. Teams from Pop Warner, PYFL, AYF, TYFL, and BCYFL all came to battle it out in one of the toughest Tournaments in the Nation from 7 & Under – 14 & Under age brackets. Great weather , great food , music and some hard hitting Football was  on display the entire weekend.

dsc_0069In the 7U Divison Rockledge Raiders battled the Deerfield Beach Bison to an 18-0 Championship Victory. QB Zay Battle received MVP honors for the game. ” Deshaun “Tookie” Thomas was named Football Hotbed Player of the game after recording 18 tackles.

The 14U Division was loaded with talent on both teams. Rockledge Hawks played the 2014 KOS Champions West Melbourne Cowboys. Hawks played close but with 2:14 remaining Middle School All American Rb KeyShawn Spencer put the game away with a 86 yard TD run. Final Score was West Melbourne 16 Rockledge 0.

12U Championship Rockledge vs Palm Bay

The game of the tournament was in the 12U Division as the Super Bowl Champions Rockledge Raiders played Palm Bay Rockets. This was a defensive battle with great plays and hard hits. Palm Bay scored first and went into the Half leading 8-0. Rockledge scored on its first possession in the 3rd Quarter but the extra point was blocked. Rockledge gave one last effort on 4th and long but was forced out of bounds on the Pirates 25 yardline as time expired. Final Palm Bay 8 Rockledge 6.
