Viera Hawks vs Lakeland Dreadnaughts  Regional Finals @7:30 Viera Stadium

Seems like some Twitter Fingers has turned into Trigger Fingers. Lakeland fired off the first shot at Viera by way of Social Media with a tweet of Cheerleaders holding up a sign that read, “TELL YOUR GIRLFRIEND THAT YOU”LL BE FREE NEXT FRIDAY.”  The Hawks have remained humble this week and use all the chatter as motivation, as they are enjoying this Playoff run. This is Viera’s second Playoff appearance in school History and facing the 6x State Champion and 2x National Champion will be a huge task. Viera is battle tested and ready for the challenge. This wont be anything new for the Hawks though, as they have played 8 playoff teams this season and tough National Powers in Allen Texas and Cocoa. The Hawks have done a great job of blocking out the noise of everyone doubting them. Not many teams get the chance to play during Thanksgiving Weekend and its an honor and privilege to make it this far in the playoffs. The Senior Leadership remembers the tough days of the past and are living in the moment of this remarkable season. So why not Viera? They have worked hard this season just like everyone else. They have been through the ups and downs, and over came obstacles. They have earned the right to be here. Lakeland can have the social media chatter, but Friday Night, I hope they are ready to face a very inspired, well Coached, and explosive Viera Hawk team. Look for a back and forth shootout as Lakeland will try to use its running game to keep the Viera Offense off the field. Look for Viera to strike fast with its potent Offense through the air and on the ground. This game will be one to remember.  Prediction: Viera 44 Lakeland 43  FINAL: Viera 24 Lakeland 14

Cocoa Tigers vs Booker T. Washington Tornadoes State Semi-Finals @7:30 Traz Powell Stadium

Booker T Washington in the State Semi-Finals has become a Thanksgiving Rivalry for the Cocoa Tigers. The Tigers have been unable to get over the hump the past four years but this seasons Tigers are confident they can finally get the job done. After dealing with Treon Harris at QB, the Tigers must now deal with Hotbed All American FR Phenom QB Daniel Richardson. Richardson leads all passers in Miami/Dade passing for 2314 yards and 28TD’s and is also a Duel-Threat capable of getting to the edge. Cocoa will have to get pressure on the QB and contain him between the tackles. Look for Jr. QB Bruce Judson, Jr. RB Timmy Pratt, and So. ATH Howard Stewart to have a big night rushing the ball due to Cocoas dominating Offensive Line. The Tigers average 375 yards per game on the ground. BTW must force Cocoa into 3rd and long or Cocoa will run it at will. If Cocoa’s Offensive Line wins the battle upfront, it will be a long night for the Tornadoes.   Prediction: Cocoa 31 BTW 23

FINAL: BTW 33 Cocoa 14
