7A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

VIERA VS ST. THOMAS: All of Brevard County is focused on one destination Friday at 7pm. The Community will be in Orlando as they Fill the Citrus Bowl to watch the Viera Hawks attempt to make History against one of the best Programs in the Nation. Playing against National Powers and getting better is what this season has been about. They have already played the #4 Team in Nation in Allen Texas, Cocoa, Palm Bay, Merritt Island, Lakeland, and Columbia. The upgrade in scheduling has made the 2015 Viera team the toughest Viera team ever. One win away from a story book ending and now St.Thomas Aquinas(Goliath) stands in the way.

Coming into the playoffs with 4 losses and never winning a playoff game, no one gave these Hawks a chance. The only ones that believed were the Coaches and Players that sweated through all the weights and workouts during the summer. The have been in close games late against top tier teams and are now on a 7 game win streak after knocking off State powers in Lakeland and Columbia. Now its time for Hayden Kingston, the leading passer in the State of Florida, to be the field General that he is and lead Viera to its first State Championship in school History.

Kingston does a great job of spreading the ball to his receivers as he has connected with 10 different receivers on the season.  St. Thomas is coming into this game banged up on the Defensive Line missing 4 Starters but depth is never a problem at St.Thomas. Look for them to try to get pressure on Kingston and prevent him getting the ball to his playmakers in Tre Nixon and Alex Cabrera.  ATH Jamyson Boyd who plays on both sides of the ball will be needed to give Viera a running game to keep the defense from pinning its ears back. If Viera can stop St.Thomas running game then you could witness a truly remarkable story. Prediction: Viera 38 STA 35
